Roots of Nature (RON), a four piece dynamo of a band from the north of Manila. How to describe their music? It's a genre bending mix of rock (heavy but not loud), world beat with a plenty of percussive groove, Maki's set-up of djembe, wooden congas and various cymbals and percussions takes the band to another level. The music of RON makes a good argument as to why I hate putting labels to music. Theirs is just good music, plain and simple. One of the bar1951 mainstay and favorite.
